WorkLife Essentials® in Practice

Five years into their relationship, Rita and her partner Frederick decided it was the  right time for them to start a family. Although Rita desperately wanted to become a mother she was concerned about how this would affect her career and what the best options were for her and Frederick regarding parental leave.
Unsure about who to talk to about these issues she logged onto the WorkLife Essentials Site and found a scenario in the SmaRT® resource tool that matched her own, leading her to articles on ‘Motherhood and Career’ and ‘Returning to Work After Parental Leave’.
These articles offered guidance on how to integrate motherhood and working life, as well as posing critical questions that helped Rita and Frederick to make decisions about parental leave. The website provided links to informative websites that enabled her to learn about her entitlements as a working mother, and also offered a list of recommended readings about becoming a parent.

“The WorkLife Essentials website offers basically all I currently need. The information on ‘Talking With Your Teenager’ and ‘Teenagers and Stress’ guides me on how to talk to my teenage son, and the ‘Caring for Me’ section is very helpful especially for someone like me who feels stressed recently. Well Done WorkLife Essentials!”
